KEY ROLES
The SDC Lead Mechanical Construction Engineer will be responsible for delivery of mechanical construction/installation across the SDC Topsides, with specific emphasis as follows;

Demonstrate excellent personal HSSE leadership and HSE behaviours. Lead, by example, with regards to company’s HSE policy.

Fulfil the role of SDC focal-point for mechanical construction/installation delivery, across designated areas of the platform-build.

Actively participate in construction-related decisions; collaborate with SDC Topside lead Construction Engineer to provide a discipline perspective to schedules, design deliverables, materials purchases, degree of mechanical installation, material delivery configuration and sequence, as well as development of any required subcontracts
BASIC SKILLS
- Deep knowledge of mechanical equipment erection: pumps, compressors, tanks, piping systems, pressure vessels, HVAC and mechanical utility systems.
- Familiar with Industry codes/standards:
- ASME B31.1, B31.3, Api 610, API 650, ISO standards
- Understanding of mechanical discipline related drawings and Vendor documents; P&ID, Isometric drawings, General arrangement drawings, Equipment Layouts and support details
- Leading and coordinating mechanical equipment installation with structural, piping and E&I teams.
- Ability to support pre-commissining and commissioning activities and punch list clearance.
- Deep understanding of CLIENT Construction Defined Practice and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering or industrial engineering.

Desired: A master degree or post-graduate specialization in Offshore Systems, Mechanical or production engineering is an advantage
EXPERIENCE
-
A high-level of communication and interpersonal skills.

Significant experience (10+ years) of mechanical construction, including knowledge of associated codes and practices.

Significant experience (5+ years) of leading mechanical construction, including knowledge of associated codes and practices.

Experience of effectively interfacing and working together with Design / Construction Contractors and Operations entities.
-
Experience with HSSE issues related to on-site construction activities.

Deep understanding of CLIENT Construction Defined Practice and the latest international standards
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
-
Provide oversight across all Topsides Mechanical package installation activities, from site ramp-up through final acceptance including Mechanical Completion Handover processes.

Ensure correct installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, HVAC and utilities as per project requirements and standards (ASME, API, etc).

Review Mechanical packages and attend line walks to insure all requirements for mechanical packages installation has been met including preservation activities.

Participate in Mechanical system completion try-party walk downs and generate punch list.

Actively participate in construction-related decisions; provide a discipline perspective to delivery schedules, equipment availability, material delivery configuration and sequence.

Interface with Design and Construction Contractors, to ensure constructability input is being actively considered and implemented.

Input, as required, to the development and review of project documentation, including all associated fabrication procedures.

Anticipate and identify adverse trends/events throughout the fabrication and construction cycle and work with the relevant parties to avoid them or achieve timely resolution.
