Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Field Specialist to support daily field operations in the Carlsbad, NM area. This role involves hands-on work with oil and gas production equipment, assisting with preventative maintenance, monitoring well performance, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and ensuring safe, efficient operations across lease sites.

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in remote field environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect wells, tank batteries, separators, compressors, and other production equipment

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs

• Collect production data and report anomalies to field supervisors or engineers

• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, leaks, and safety concerns

• Assist with startup/shutdown of wells and daily optimization of production systems

• Operate vehicles and equipment safely across lease roads and rugged terrain

• Support environmental and safety compliance activities, including spill response and documentation

• Communicate with team members, contractors, and control center staff to ensure smooth operations

• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency response drills

• Maintain accurate records of production data, maintenance logs, and safety inspections

Basic / Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical training or trade certifications a plus)

• 1–3 years of experience in field operations or oilfield maintenance

• Basic mechanical knowledge of pumps, valves, tanks, compressors, etc.

• Familiarity with HSE standards and practices in the oil and gas industry

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs

• Willingness to travel locally within the Carlsbad field area

• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Lease Operator, Field Technician, or similar role in upstream operations

• Understanding of artificial lift systems and tank battery operations

• Familiarity with production reporting systems or handheld field data tools

• Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems

• Safety certifications such as H2S, PEC, or First Aid/CPR
