One of our clients, a major mining company, has tasked us with finding a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join their team on a 1-year contract in Prince George, BC. This role is critical in maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel/exhaust systems, brakes, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems, and lubrication systems.

Diagnose faults using computerized and manual testing equipment to determine necessary repairs.

Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and major breakdown repairs on heavy equipment.

Test and inspect drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, and high-pressure water pumps to detect malfunctions.

Service attachments and working tools, ensuring optimal performance.

Verify and repair emission control systems in compliance with regulations.

Mentor apprentices and collaborate with the team to achieve maintenance targets.
Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years of experience working with industrial heavy equipment (hydraulic systems, diesel engines, compressors, drill units, trucks, crawlers, and pumps).

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (required).

Interprovincial Red Seal Certification ().

Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Valid driver’s license.

Experience with drilling equipment is an asset.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
