Head of Rotating Equipment

Job Purpose



  • Oversee machinery engineering discipline and FEED/EPC contractor in delivering all aspects of rotating equipment/machinery design within approved scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Ensure technical requirements (specifications, data sheets, procedures) developed during FEED and EPC comply with project requirements.

  • Provide guidance to contractors and resolve technical issues to meet project objectives and milestones.

  • Monitor discipline schedule and work progress.





Job Context & Major Challenges



  • Position based in Doha or site offices.

  • Requires high commitment to ensure technical activities and third-party deliverables meet specifications.

  • Challenges include guiding contractors to produce timely deliverables, maintaining constructive relationships, and aligning rotating equipment execution with stakeholders.





Key Accountabilities



  1. Demonstrate strong safety leadership and behaviors.

  2. Ensure machinery engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements, codes, standards, and project specifications.

  3. Resolve machinery-related issues promptly.

  4. Ensure approved design recommendations improve integrity and safety.

  5. Steward contractor design and execution activities, verify resources and competency.

  6. Provide input to other disciplines and support commissioning and system completion.

  7. Track and report lessons learned.

  8. Monitor contractor progress.





Experience



  • 10 years in engineering roles, including 6 years in Oil & Gas and 2 years in supervisory or oversight roles.

  • Extensive experience with EPC contractors, vendors, or service companies.

  • Competent in managing all phases of project execution, technical issues, and risk assessment.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards, specifications, and methodologies.

  • Experience in contract management, negotiations, and high-pressure pumping systems.

  • Familiarity with pulsation studies and rotating equipment vendor/manufacturer background.





Skills



  • Fluent in English.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and mediation abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Deep knowledge of industry codes and standards for machinery discipline.
