Construction Subcontract Manager - Houston, TX



Our client is seeking a Construction Subcontract Manager to work within their offices located in Houston, TX, to support a new LNG project.




The Construction Subcontract Manager supports the Contracts and Commercial Manager, Site Construction Manager, and Construction Mod Yard Managers in overseeing the EPC Contractor’s construction subcontracts. Responsibilities include reviewing, approving, and auditing subcontractor performance, deliverables, and compliance. This role reports to the Contracts and Commercial Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the Construction Director and Site Managers.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee EPC Contractor’s compliance with subcontractor obligations, including performance, deliverables, and risk management.
  
  
• Draft and review formal correspondence, change orders, and amendments related to construction subcontracts.
  
  
• Collaborate with the Legal Team to develop negotiation strategies and manage claims and disputes.
  
  
• Coordinate with Construction Management and Project Controls teams to monitor subcontractor performance and project risks.
  

Required Skills



Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree.
  
  
• 5+ years of experience in petrochemical, LNG, or gas processing construction, with emphasis on contract or construction management.
  
  
• Ability to interpret complex contract documents.
  
  
• Proven ability to draft and manage formal project documentation.
  
  
• On-site construction experience in the U.S. (required); international experience .
  
  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  
  
• Ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  
  
• Proficiency in standard business and construction industry software.
  
  
• Willingness to travel and accept temporary domestic and international assignments.
