Airswift has been tasked by a major Oil and Gas client to seek a Construction Field Coordinator to work within their facilities in Lima, OH for a 12-months contract with benefits. Per diem and mob in/mob out offered for candidates non-local.
The Construction Field Coordinator supports the Lima Refinery construction project team, with the following roles and responsibilities:
Construction and Project Management:
- Participate in project execution planning activities (design reviews, model review, Construction Work Package, construction sequence planning, Contractor Log, systems turnover, etc.), when required
Pre Mobilization Work:
- Develop bid requisition in consultation with Construction Manager and Project Engineer
- Develop technical bid document and participate in contractor bid reviews
- Develop and maintain performance (quantity installed) verification tool
Execution:
- Actively verify contractor alignment to contractual performance requirements (safety, quality, cost, schedule, change management) including identification of variances and mitigations in daily reporting
- Support contractor and EP with material issues/shortages/discrepancies
- Support the record keeping of construction metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) (field quantity survey and contractor performance factor (pf) monitoring)
Post Execution:
- Participate in contractor close outs and lesson learned meetings
Safety:
- Review and participation in Company's Safety Initiatives
- Actively learn, participate and verify adherence to Company Safety Management System
- Wear required PPE
- Participate in field hazard assessments and Risk Assessments
- Participation in CCMT Mentorship & Competency Program
- Observe and Mentor team members
- Understand, comply with and communicate OSHA Legislation
Quality:
- Actively learn, participate and verify adherence to Company's Specifications
- Create, maintain and mange project specific Master Deficiency List (MDL)
- Manage project turnovers in accordance with CCMT Turnover and TCCC process
Schedule:
- Participate in the development, implementation and management of Master Project schedules
- Perform verification of contractor progress and project performance, and communicate findings / potential mitigations to CCMT Leadership
Cost:
- Review of Contractor Reporting to verify accuracy of actuals + forecast
- Participation in monthly accrual process
Change Management:
- Ongoing Contractor and Construction Work Package risk identification and resolution recommendations
- Review and recommend resolution for technical issues
- Review, communicate and process Contractor Request For Information (RFI), Company Field Change Notice (FCN) and CCMT Request For Clarification (RFC) documentation.
Communication/Reporting:
- Identification and communication of Risk (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule) Management
- Provide progress / risk / look ahead reporting and participation in related meetings
- Ongoing communication with Company peers and key external project stakeholders (Example: Engineering)
Other:
- Active participation in toolbox, coordination and communication meetings
- Maintain daily journal / log, recording key conversations & information
Qualifications:
- An associates degree in engineering technology in the Mechanical discipline, at minimum
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in a field role on large industrial construction projects
- Formal training in Health and Safety would be an asset
