Summary

An entry level position Accountable for providing Workplace Safety technical and regulatory advice, mentoring, guiding, and coaching to site/functional operations. They are responsible for assisting Site Leadership with the following to maintain compliance with all MIOSHA Requirements in line with OEM's Safety Requirements

LEVEL EXPECTATIONS:

Entry level professional executing work requires independent decision-making and judgment with appropriate supervision over outcomes.

EXPERTISE:

  • Requires good theoretical knowledge in specialization and an entry-level understanding of practices and procedures, usually acquired through an undergraduate degree, professional certification, or comparable work experience with some additional limited experience.
  • Critical analysis skills developed through professional study or comparable experience sufficient to identify, describe, and make recommendations relative to business challenges impacting their area on a day-to-day basis. Applies a body of professional / theoretical knowledge and problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Analyzing Workplace Safety data and communicating results and trends along with continuous improvement opportunities; Assessing site Workplace Safety performance and conformance to MIOSHA requirements.
  • Manage the site as Safety Resource on Workplace Safety requirements.
  • Working in partnership with GWS, Site and OEM Leadership to support Workplace Safety cultural transformation.
  • Developing and educating site employees to drive Workplace Safety cultural transformation; and Developing partnerships with key site personnel including Non-Manufacturing Global Workplace Safety, Human Resources, Industrial Hygiene, Labor, Environmental, Ergonomics resources, and Health Services.
  • This is an entry level safety professional supporting a site and/or region in the implementation of safety processes under the direction of an OEM Safety Leader.
  • Provides support and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of MIOSHA safety requirements and other OEM safety initiatives or tools as requested by GWS, Site Leadership or OEM Leadership. Collaborates with GWS safety stakeholders, site peers, and leadership to develop effective action plans and tracking mechanisms that eliminate roadblocks and ensure timely implementation of safety projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up and leading safety meetings, coordinating safety activities, delivering training, managing follow-up actions, and preparing presentations-both at the site level and for broader organizational audiences.
  • Assists or directs the resolution of government safety violations or citations
  • Performs other tasks assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  • 0-2 years applicable experience required
