Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and assign work to maintenance staff.
• Conduct regular inspections of department facilities, including the jail, administrative offices, and outbuildings, to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Perform and oversee repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems as qualified.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs for facility systems, generators, security systems, and other critical equipment
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, work orders, and repair
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and county officials for specialized repair or renovation projects.
• Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, including ordering supplies, tools, and parts as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours situations when needed
• Support jail operations by ensuring all locks, doors, cameras, lighting, and security systems are maintained in proper working condition.
• Train and oversee maintenance staff in safety procedures and proper equipment use.
