Our client, a leading specialty industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Welding Engineer to employ their extensive knowledge of engineering, metallurgy, materials, welding, and standards to design, examine, and evaluate welds. The Welding Engineer should possess a deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and the use of related machinery and tools.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop company Standards for materials, weld-joint designs, and welding processes
  • Design welded parts, assemblies, and structures
  • Determine welding processes such as material/procedure/supplier qualifications and product testing
  • Establish on-going training on welding methods, procedures, processes, welding symbols, design document reading
  • Review and recommend welding equipment to maintain currency and proficiency in technical improvements associated with best-practice welding processes.
  • Direct involvement in troubleshooting welding issues and provide corrective and preventive actions

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Metallurgy
  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng)
  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment

Requirements/Skills:

  • Analytical thinker and problem-solver
  • Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills
  • Ability to create, design, and analyze blueprints and drawings
