We are seeking a Welding Supervisor to join a local metals manufacturer on the southside of Milwaukee for a direct hire.


Pay: $35-40/HR + OT

JOB SUMMARY


Seeking a highly experienced and organized individual to lead 1st shift welding

operations. Our primary weld types are MIG and SAW of carbon steels. This pivotal role

oversees welding projects to ensure quality, safety, and continuous improvement, requiring

advanced technical expertise and strong leadership.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership: Mentor welders and foster a culture of safety, quality, and

improvement.

Project Oversight: Plan and manage welding projects to meet timelines and budgets.

Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AWS/ASME standards;

lead root cause analysis.

Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and lead training sessions.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure readiness and calibration of welding and robotic

systems.

Reporting: Maintain records and communicate performance metrics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering, QA, and production.

Performance Tracking: Monitor and improve KPIs such as weld quality, throughput, and

safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 5+ years in welding, 2+ years in supervision. MIG and SAW welding

expertise .

Education: High school diploma required; technical training/certification .

Certifications: AWS, CWI or CWS strongly .

SKILLS

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to

motivate and inspire a team.

Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and

equipment. Familiarity with industry standards and codes.


Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address

quality issues.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the

ability to effectively communicate with team members and other departments.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively

address issues that arise during welding projects.

Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety, with the ability to enforce safety

protocols and procedures.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability

to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
