MIG Welder

SAS Global Corporation | Warren, MI

SAS Global Corporation is seeking a MIG Welder to manufacture engineered, fabricated metal parts. This hands-on position involves reading blueprints, producing and inspecting welds, and working safely with a variety of materials in a manufacturing shop.

What You’ll Do

• Perform handheld MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, manganese steel, and mild steel with chromium carbide overlay.
• Read and interpret blueprints to meet job specifications.
• Inspect welds for quality and accuracy.
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and build up metal parts as needed.
• Complete required quality checks and documentation using the Quality Assurance Inspection Traveler for each job.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and work instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
• Basic shop math skills.
• Experience operating an overhead crane.
• Hi-Lo license.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing shop with exposure to dust, dirt, and frequent loud noise. Duties include lifting materials weighing approximately 50 pounds.
