Welder

Eyesight Requirement

Must be able to read a Jager Level 2 eye chart from 16 inches, with or without the use

of prescriptive lenses.

Accurate Job Reporting

Operators are responsible for clocking in and out on jobs and posting quantities

accurately. This accountability ensures proper labor tracking, supports production

Skills and Abilities

Welder Level 1

? Reads and interprets simple drawings for dimensions, tolerances, notes, and

weld symbology that is required for Level 1 Weld products.

? Able to read, interpret, and apply specific Weld Proceedure Specifications (WPS)

that apply to products where proper training has been completed.

? Proficient in single pass Fux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in a horizontal

progression, and/or Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) in horizontal and downhill

progression.

? Able to properly utilize weld gauges, tape measures, squares, and GO/NO-GO

gauges to check the fitting and welding of their work.

? Proficient in minor weld preparation utilizing grinders.

? Able to identify weld defects, such as oversized and undersized welds, porosity,

and undercut, and the proper repair defects.

? Proficiently uses 4 1/2 electric and battery powered grinders, and air tools to

clean up and finish Level 1 Weld products.

? Maintains a clean and organized work area during shift and performs end of shift

clean-up activities to put away tools, equipment, materials, and supplies,

cleaning machines, sweeping floor, and throwing out trash.

? Performs any other duties or activities required by supervisors and managers.

? Follows all company policies and safety guidelines.

Welder Level 2

? Maintains AWS certification.

? Reads and interpret complex drawings for dimensions, tolerances, notes, weld

sequencing and weld symbology.

? Able to fully read, interpret, and apply all Weld Proceedure Specifications (WPS).

? Proficient in multi-pass Fux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and/or Gas Metal Arc

Welding (GMAW) in all approved weld progressions.

? Proficient in weld preparation using grinders, bevelers, plasma, gougers, and

oxygen-Acetylene flame cutting.

? Skilled in pre-bow techniques to support flatness requirements of welded

products.

? Skilled in the use of oxygen-acetylene torch techniques to support the removal of

bow or twist in welded products.

? Expert in the repair of all weld defects.

? Able to properly utilize weld gauges, tape measures, squares, levels, protractors,

calipers, and GO/NO-GO gauges to perform the fitting and welding of their work.

? Highly skilled in the use of electric, air powered, and hand tools for the finishing

or weldments.

? Able to competently perform internal weld machine maintenance on individual,

non-robotic welding machines.

? Able to train and assist with Level 1 welders and needed or requested by their

superior.

? Maintains a clean and organized work area during shift and performs end of shift

clean-up activities to put away tools, equipment, materials, and supplies,

cleaning machines, sweeping floor, and throwing out trash.

? Performs any other duties or activities required by supervisors and managers.

? Follows all company policies and safety guidelines.

Welder Level 3

? Maintains AWS certification.

sequencing and weld symbology.

? Able to fully read, interpret, and apply all Weld Proceedure Specifications (WPS).

? Expert in the use of weld gauges, tape measures, squares, levels, protractors,

calipers, and GO/NO-GO gauges to perform the fitting and welding of their work,

and the training and inspection of Level 1, and Level 2 welders.

? Expert in the use of electric, air power, and hand tools for the finishing of

weldments.

? Able to competently perform internal maintenance on all individual and robotic

welding equipment.

? Able to support in the design, creation, and testing of weld fixtures.

? Supports new WPS creation and weld testing for new processes.

? Able to train and assist Level 1 and 2 welders as needed or requested by their

superior.

? Maintains a clean and organized work area during shift and performs end of shift

clean-up activities to put away tools, equipment, materials, and supplies,

cleaning machines, sweeping floor, and throwing out trash.

? Performs any other duties or activities required by supervisors and managers.

? Follows all company policies and safety guidelines.
