Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our operations by assisting with various tasks related to welding, fabrication, and machining. This position requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in welding and fabrication processes using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques.
• Operate and maintain machinery including plasma cutting equipment and machining tools.
• Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers to ensure precision in all tasks.
• Follow industry codes and standards to maintain quality and safety in all work performed.
• Support rigging operations as needed, ensuring proper handling of materials.
• Safely operate forklifts for material handling within the shop environment.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in welding, fabrication, or related fields is .
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Familiarity with FCAW processes is highly desirable.
• Experience operating forklifts; certification is a plus.
• Proficient in using measuring tools such as micrometers for precise measurements.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to welding and fabrication practices.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
