Position Summary

Seneca Dairy Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced Welder II to support advanced production and fabrication welding operations. This position requires proficiency in MIG welding across multiple material types, including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and pre-galvanized materials. Welder II is responsible for performing in-position and out-of-position welds, supporting robotic welding systems, and completing both jig-based and freehand fabrication projects with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

·          Join, fabricate, and weld metal and other weldable materials using appropriate MIG welding techniques

·         Set and adjust wire feed speed and amperage to obtain proper weld penetration and appearance

·         Determine correct weld size based on material thickness and specifications

·         Perform in-position and out-of-position welding

·         Weld mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and pre-galvanized materials

·         Load parts into robotic welding systems and perform touch-up welding as needed

·         Weld production items using jigs and fixtures

·         Complete small fabrication projects without jigs when required

·         Weld gates and panels using pre-galvanized materials

·         Weld stainless steel tanks and brackets

·         Weld aluminum hubs and brackets

·         Maintain weld quality and follow shop procedures


Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Shop Supervisor


Qualifications & Requirements

·         Proven ability to join and fabricate metal using MIG welding techniques

·         Experience operating a MIG welder independently

·         Ability to set and adjust welding parameters (wire speed and amperage)

·         Ability to weld various material types including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel

·         Ability to perform out-of-position welding

·         Ability to lift and handle heavy materials

·         Proficiency using hand and power tools such as grinders, welding clamps, and pliers

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·         Familiarity with and adherence to safety requirements and protocols


Training & Advancement

·         Structured training with laser welding

·         Advancement into out-of-position welding (e.g., pipe to clamp products)


Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and handle materials, and work in a manufacturing and fabrication environment.
