Job Title: Welder

Location: MACON, GA

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures, parts, and equipment by using various welding techniques. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of welding safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding operations on a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine the specifications of the job.

• Set up welding equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning.

• Use different welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, or Oxy-acetylene welding.

• Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.

• Repair and maintain equipment and structures as needed.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA safety regulations.

• Keep track of materials and tools used, ensuring proper inventory management.

• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to meet project deadlines.

• Troubleshoot welding issues and perform necessary adjustments to meet specifications.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Welder or in a similar role.

• Strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and regulations.

• Physical stamina and the ability to work in a standing or kneeling position for extended periods.

• High school diploma or equivalent (or vocational training in welding).

• Welding certification (e.g., AWS, MIG, TIG) is but not required.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs.

• Ability to work in various weather conditions and in confined spaces.

• Use of protective gear such as gloves, helmets, and safety glasses.
