Daily scope of work includes material handling and receiving, basic fabrication/welding and project assembly required to complete customer orders, be a self-starter who can offer suggestions, and support a team with a focus on personal development.

An ideal candidate must be motivated, coachable, and ready to be hands-on!

Gerhart is looking for an entry-level Fabrication Associate to join our talented team based in Tatamy, PA.

Responsibilities:

• Support fabrication from raw material to finished product with instruction from the Fabrication Leader and Senior Welder/Fabricators.
• Assemble simple assemblies from professional blueprints or sketches, within tolerance, that meet design intent.
• Perform material handling, organization, and receiving support to Gerhart production teams.

Qualifications:

• Familiar with common metal shop tools and equipment. (i.e. welders - TIG & MIG, Brazing, Cutting Torches, grinders, breaks, drills, taps, saws, fixtures, measuring, etc.)
• Effective communication skills is a must.
• Capable of working both independently and as a team to perform all jobs and projects.
• Previous work experience with Pipe Fitting, Tube Bending, Compression Fitting Experience.
• Forklift Certification.
• Physically Fit; position requires consistent lifting, moving, and carrying product 50 lb or more.
• Willing and able to bend, crawl, and lift for extended periods of time in a safe manner meeting company guidelines and OSHA standards.
• Self-motivated with critical thinking skills.
