Welder

A leading engineering company based in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced TIG/MIG Welder to join their high-performing fabrication team.



This is an excellent opportunity to work on precision-engineered aluminium and stainless-steel components within a professional and supportive environment.



Key Responsibilities:



* Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on aluminium (up to 3mm) and stainless steel components.



* Fabricate, assemble, and finish parts according to detailed engineering drawings and specifications.



* Inspect and test welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.



* Operate fabrication and workshop machinery such as grinders, saws, and presses.



* Accurately measure, mark, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication.



* Carry out maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools.



* Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.



* Uphold strict health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.



* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.



Skills & Experience Required:



* Relevant welding qualification (TIG/MIG) or equivalent proven experience.



* Strong background in aluminium and stainless-steel fabrication.



* Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering blueprints.



* Confident using hand tools, fabrication equipment, and measuring instruments.



* Physically capable of handling materials up to 25kg.



* Flexible approach to overtime and changing project priorities.



* Team player with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.
