Job Description

The position involves working in a pre-fabrication shop to weld together frames for modular units using MIG and fluxcore welding on steel. Candidates will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and perform welding primarily in flat or horizontal positions, with occasional vertical welding.

Responsibilities

• Weld frames for modular units using MIG and fluxcore welding on steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Perform flat and horizontal welding, with some vertical welding as needed.
• Control AMP and tolerances to ensure clean, strong welds.
• Cut materials and use a grinder to finish welds.
• Read tape measures and perform precise measurements.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG and fluxcore welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Capability to read blueprints, wire diagrams, and written instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• TIG/Stick welding experience is .
• Ability to fit materials is advantageous.
• Must own basic hand tools and know their proper use.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.

Work Environment

The work environment is a fast-paced, repetitive, and construction-related pre-fabrication shop. Safety is a priority, requiring the use of steel toe boots and safety glasses. The dress code includes long pants and a t-shirt.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
