Job Description

Join our team as a Welder where you will use Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel to construct barges. You will work collaboratively under a supervisor, reading blueprints and applying your welding skills in various techniques including MIG and TIG.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members under the guidance of a supervisor.
  • Apply various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Ensure accurate fitting and tack welding.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with fabrication and structural steel welding.
  • Knowledge of welding on stainless steel and carbon steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous welding experience of 3-6 months.
  • Ability to pass a weld test (1-5F).
  • Experience with tack and fitting.

Work Environment

The work environment is outdoors and can be very hot. Safety is a priority, requiring steel toe ankle-high leather boots, long sleeves, and pants. Contact lenses are discouraged due to welding smoke. Work is conducted in two shifts: 1st shift from Mon-Fri 6am-3:30pm, and 2nd shift from Mon-Fri 3:15pm-12:45am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.30/hr.
