SUMMARY: Mig welder that Plans, lay out, fabricates, assembles, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Works as part of a production team to weld parts.
· Ensure high safety measures while working such as donning protective gear for the face and body.
· Reads and interprets engineering drawings & product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal parts/products.
· Selects gauge and type of sheet metal according to specifications
· Create quality welds according to blueprints.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
· Ability to use hand and power tools
· Change welding wire as needed.
· Change gas tanks, as needed
· Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.
· Operate equipment such as industrial saws.
· Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management
· Inspect welds for accuracy.
Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure work areas are clean
· Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
· Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.
· Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
· Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including
lifting, climbing, etc.
· Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not
correctable to supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of welding experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
- Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; able to manage multiple projects.
- Must have basic knowledge of power tools and hand tools
- Must be able to speak, follow verbal and written direction in English
