Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
In support of the companys continued growth, the Production Welder is responsible for expertly operating welding equipment to safely produce welded/fabricated parts and assemblies to customer specifications in a timely and efficient manner. The successful applicant will be an experienced welder with a teamwork mentality. This is an hourly position based out of the OKC metro area and reports to the Production Manager. The applicant must pass a background check, department of motor vehicle check and drug screen.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Uses welders to produce heat and solder together components made from steel, titanium, copper, and other metals
- Welds small components and large ones for catwalks, pans, decking, dispensers, boards, shelves, etc.
- Assesses equipment, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods
- Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and temperature
- Takes apart and disposes of large metal objects
- Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation
- Routinely lift, pull, push, grasp and bend while lifting up to 75 pounds
- Participate in team handling/lifting
- Responsible for proper and safe use, maintenance, and reporting of all Devon Industries property.
- Organize/Clean warehouse space
- Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years of welding experience, MIG Welding
- Welding certificate a plus
- Must pass an internal weld test
- Familiar with common metal shop tools and equipment (Welders, grinders, drills, saws, jigs, clamping devices, measuring and marking tools, etc.)
- Ability to set up jigs and weld, minimizing distortion of materials
- Ability to lift or move heavy products up to 75 pounds
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
- Safely use hand and power tools, and other shop equipment
- Basic understanding, knowledge and use a personal computer
- Must be able to read and process a bill of materials (BOM).
- Team player with organizational skills

- 90% of work is performed in an indoor semi-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires the Team Member to regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
