Welder Fitter Job Description

• Weld all positions with .045 flux core wire
• Weld with .035 hard wire and 1/16 flux core wire
• Cut parts from blueprints and detail
• Flat weld with .035 and .045 hard wire
• Do basic math and find center of plate steel, read tape measure, and be able to read decimals
• Be able to use a torch set
• Be able to build girders with help from an experienced persons on set-up of girders
• Be able to help assemble 
• Must be able to fill out daily time slips accurately for labor reporting purposes
• Must clean-up around machine and work area everyday
• Must do routine maintenance as instructed by supervisor
• Responsible for manufacturing parts within the routed time frame, or notifying the supervisor if the work order time and/or sequence of operation on the work order is incorrect
• Must have own tools that accommodate set-up, welding, cleaning and measuring for all phases of operation. Must provide own helmet, lenses and all hand tools required to accomplish tasks.
• On occasion other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
