- Summary of Primary Function: Performs all welding duties according to specifications that are required in the shop by using GMAW and Stud welding equipment.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.
- Always wear all appropriate PPE while on the property.
- Read blueprints, drawings and weld symbols to determine specific welding requirements.
- Must know basic math skills. Addition and subtraction of whole numbers and fractions.
- Must know how to read and use a tape measure.
- Cut and punch plates using shop equipment like bandsaw and iron-worker.
- Torch cut parts using oxy/acetylene and plasma torches.
- Cleans connection plates with a wire brush and/or grinder.
- Grind the connection plates to fit properly and remove mill scale.
- Weld rebar to plate in various positions according to WPS and AWS D1.4 code.
- Weld plate to plate in various positions according to WPS and AWS D1.1 code.
- Requires standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and lifting for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires frequent heavy lifting of steel plates and assemblies 50-75lbs and team lifting over 100lbs.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) with 1-3 years of work experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Required Certifications: Must be or become Tindall Certified in GMAW and Stud Welding.

- Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and must be able to perform in hot & cold temperatures. Frequently exposed to moving equipment and loads. Employees are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, and exposed to a noise level that is intermittently loud.
