What your day will look like:

• Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural forms according to blueprints.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, including 1st and 3rd angle projections, to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Position, secure, and align parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld components to hold them in place for welding.
• Melt and handle lead as needed for joints or recycling purposes.
• Inspect grooves, angles, and gaps using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Remove rough spots and prepare surfaces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions according to specifications.
• Verify parts meet quality standards before moving them to the next department.
• Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations, including using proper protective equipment and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
• Support team operations by assisting within the Welding Department and other departments as needed.

What we are looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years of relevant experience; MIG and TIG
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Skilled in building, welding, and finishing metal.
• Strong analytical skills to make precise calculations for cutting and shaping.
