Welder 1
Job Summary:
Welder 1 has the responsibility of welding and fabricating projects in a shop setting. Duties include cutting, fitting, tacking, welding, and grinding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Will also be assisting others in the fabrication process. Help maintain a clean and organized shop. Welder 1 also inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, cleans, and maintains new and existing equipment and/or systems. It is essential for the Welder 1 to be able to communicate with other team members and to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.

We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.
Roles and Responsibilities:

- Ability to position, layout, fit up, cut, and weldmaterialin accordance to shop drawingsand directions from supervisor.
- Operate tooling and equipment such as a torch, plasma arc cutter,grinder, pipe bender, etc.
- Work safelyin ashopsetting around heavy equipmentincluding ironworkers, press brakes, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Maintain tools asrequiredto perform job.
- Performing all job duties following company safety rules and proper use of all personal protective equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED . Any vocational training is strongly desired.
- 1-2 years welding experience .
- Those with an educationand/or work-relatedcredentialfrom a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.)
- Have an understanding of engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Comprehend a Bill of Material todeterminenecessary materials and requirements.
- 1 Year or more of welding/fabrication work experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.
- Ability to read and interpret all AWS basic weld symbols and typical welding symbols.
- Frequent use of basic hand and measurement tools.
- Ability to detect unsafe or hazardous conditions of equipment and work environment.
- Excellentwritten and verbalcommunication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to get to and from work.
Physical Requirements:
- Able and willingto work long hoursincludingday,night, weekendshiftsasneeded, and work outside of normal hours.
- Abletowalk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, andable toliftup-to50or morepounds frequently.
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
