Pay Rate: $34.93/hour ($36.67/hr effective 9/1/2025)

Health & Welfare: $8.21-11.15/hour up to 40 hours per week to be used toward health premiums ($8.78 – 11.93/hr up to 40 hours per week effective 9/1/2025)

Scope of Work:

Provide operational support for the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Responsibilities:

Wastewater Plant

  • Operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage, monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage, observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and tests results to determine load requirements.
  • Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through screening, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes
  • Maintain log of operations and records meter and gas readings
  • Gives directions to wastewater treatment-plant attendants and sewage-disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance, and may collect sewage sample, using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests, using testing equipment, such as colorimeter.
  • Perform Preventative and Operational as well as corrective maintenance as required or directed.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Makes rounds collecting samples and running analysis testing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Completion or GED Equivalent.
  • Valid State of Colorado Water and Wastewater class D License.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs.
  • Should be ready to learn PLC / SCADA based controls.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Must be able to respond to calls for work outside of normal working hours
  • Ability to lift 50lb.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
  • Operators at Wastewater Treatment Plant are required to undergo the series of Hepatitis vaccinations
  • Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
