The City of Blair, NE is hiring Water Treatment Plant Operators to join our Water Department! This full-time, non-exempt position offers the opportunity to work with advanced treatment systems at our one-of-a-kind Water Treatment Plant, currently producing 20 million gallons per day and expanding to 27 million gallons. What You'll Do:

• Operate and monitor the Water Treatment Plant using the SCADA system to ensure safe and reliable water production.

• Perform water quality testing, treatment, and equipment adjustments as needed.

• Assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs to support smooth plant operations.

• Assist with recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance with state and federal water regulations.

• Train with experienced staff and the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor to gain full operational knowledge.

• Serve as backup support for other operators as needed.

What You Bring:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.

• Licensing: A Grade 4 Water Operator License (or higher) from the State of Nebraska is required within 6 months of hire. The City will provide training for the right candidate.

• Experience/Skills: Mechanical aptitude, ability to work with both hands-on systems and computer-based controls, and willingness to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.

• Other: Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire.
