The City of Blair, NE is hiring Water Treatment Plant Operators to join our Water Department! This full-time, non-exempt position offers the opportunity to work with advanced treatment systems at our one-of-a-kind Water Treatment Plant, currently producing 20 million gallons per day and expanding to 27 million gallons. What You'll Do:

Operate and monitor the Water Treatment Plant using the SCADA system to ensure safe and reliable water production.

Perform water quality testing, treatment, and equipment adjustments as needed.

Assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs to support smooth plant operations.

Assist with recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance with state and federal water regulations.

Train with experienced staff and the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor to gain full operational knowledge.

Serve as backup support for other operators as needed.
What You Bring:

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Licensing: A Grade 4 Water Operator License (or higher) from the State of Nebraska is required within 6 months of hire. The City will provide training for the right candidate.

Experience/Skills: Mechanical aptitude, ability to work with both hands-on systems and computer-based controls, and willingness to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.

Other: Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire.
