Our projects are based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where we provide technical expertise and engineering design for stream restoration and fisheries projects. We are looking for an innovative experienced Water Resources Engineering Manager to lead and grow our water resources group. This position offers the opportunity to manage a talented team of engineers and scientists, drive strategic growth, and deliver impactful projects that restore ecosystems and improve habitat connectivity across the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the fish passage and stream team, including staff development, workload management, and mentoring.
  • Build and expand client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and contribute to the business development and strategic planning.
  • Lead the design and delivery of fish passage projects, including culvert replacements, stream simulation, and habitat connectivity improvements
  • Manage projects budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Serve as the technical leader in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support planning and design.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, design drawings, technical reports, and construction documents.
  • Conduct and supervise site assessments, field investigations, and data collection.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, planners, and environmental scientists.
  • Support permitting and regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to advance project goals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, including hydrology and hydraulics with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • WSDOT Fish Passage and Stream Restoration Design certification or ability to obtain it within 1-year.
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or related design software.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing construction documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

:

  • Direct experience with fish passage design, stream restoration, or aquatic habitat projects.
  • Knowledge of Washington State permitting requirements (WSDOT, WDFW, Ecology, and local jurisdictions).
  • Familiarity with GIS applications.
  • Master’s degree in water resources or environmental engineering.
