WHAT YOUR DAY IS LIKE
As a Building Maintenance Technician - Wastewater, you carefully monitor wastewater treatment operations, ensuring chemical levels are optimal and systems are functioning correctly, ready to step in manually when automation fails. You perform inspections and preventative maintenance, addressing any issues with mechanical systems, piping, valves, or controls. You handle building upkeep from lighting to HVAC, keeping the grounds safe and presentable. Whether you're issuing permits or maintaining fire suppression systems, your attention to safety, detail, and regulatory compliance ensures everything operates smoothly.

WHAT'S NEEDED FROM A BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - WASTEWATER?
- Related experience in general maintenance, plumbing, and grounds maintenance
- Knowledge of OSHA and E.P.A. regulations and requirements
- Experience in a USDA meat processing facility is
- Previous experience in the wastewater treatment process is
- Basic building maintenance skills, plumbing, electrical, painting, etc.
- Basic computer skills to utilize our computer system to retrieve work assignments and enter basic information into the system
- Basic knowledge of operating a computer and computer software
- Safety conscious and have good initiative
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to work holidays and weekends
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk/hear, and taste/smell
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work around fumes or airborne particles and in outside weather conditions
- Ability to work various shifts
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
