Job Description
Salary: £42,000 – £50,000 per year (experience dependent)

About us
We are the UK supplier of Nilan ventilation, heat recovery, and heat pump systems, providing warranty support, technical diagnostics, commissioning assistance, and product expertise to installers, developers, and end-users.
This position supports our role as the primary UK technical contact for Nilan systems, offering advanced site-based troubleshooting and controller configuration when third-party engineers are unable to resolve issues.
The role
This is a field-based technical support and warranty role. It does not involve installation work.
Key responsibilities:
- Carrying out warranty diagnostics and repairs on Nilan units
- Attending sites to resolve complex faults that other engineers cannot diagnose
- Performing airflow balancing and assisting with system commissioning
- Setting up and configuring Nilan controllers, parameters, and system modes
- Diagnosing issues involving:
- Sensors
- PCBs and controllers
- Heat pump components
- Airflow performance and ventilation issues
- Underfloor heating temperature and flow problems
- Providing remote and on-site technical support to installers and customers
- Producing accurate technical reports and warranty assessments
- Acting as a professional technical representative of the supplier
Candidate requirements
Essential skills:
- Minimum 4–5 years post-apprenticeship experience
- Strong background in MVHR, ventilation, or heat pump systems
- Ability to carry out airflow balancing and system commissioning
- Experience with hybrid ventilation/heating systems
- Understanding of underfloor heating systems and hydronic circuits
- Strong electrical and controls diagnostics, including PCBs and sensors
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
(but not essential):
- F-Gas Category 1 certification
- Experience with systems such as Nilan, NIBE, Zehnder, Vent-Axia, etc.
- Background in manufacturer-side or warranty support roles
- Knowledge of BMS or Modbus communication
Note: Training will be provided for Nilan-specific systems.
