Position Summary: Orthopedic Care Partners seeks a highly experienced and strategic VP, Technology Infrastructure & Operations to lead our infrastructure support, drive technology consolidation and standardization, ensure scalability, and optimize cost-effectiveness across our technology stack. This exciting role is pivotal in shaping our technological future, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting our rapid growth. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven track record in managing complex IT environments, fostering innovation, building high-performing teams, and being a thought leader within the organization. This enterprise leader is responsible for leading and managing an organization's overall technology strategy and operations, playing a critical role in aligning technological initiatives with business objectives, driving innovation, and ensuring the effective and secure use of technology throughout the organization. This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer.


Key Responsibilities


Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals, including identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact, and recommending appropriate solutions to drive business objectives. This also encompasses developing M&A technology integration strategies.


Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the IT department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team. This involves providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to IT staff, building a culture of excellence and continuous learning, motivating teams to achieve strategic targets (MBO Delivery), and overseeing comprehensive talent management initiatives.

Operations and Infrastructure: Oversee the organization's technology infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, reliability, scalability, and security. This includes:

  • Network Administration: Managing and optimizing all network infrastructure.
  • Data Center & Server Management: Overseeing physical and virtual server environments, including data centers.
  • IDF/MDF Room Consolidation: Leading efforts to consolidate and optimize IT physical spaces.
  • Telecommunications Platform: Managing and evolving telecommunications systems.
  • Help Desk / ITSM Management: Directing and optimizing IT Service Management operations, including the help desk.
  • Desktop/Field Technician Support: Ensuring efficient support for end-user devices and field operations.
  • Device Management: Overseeing the lifecycle and security of all organizational devices.
  • Medical Records Management: Ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient management of electronic and physical medical records infrastructure.
  • PACS and Imaging Integration: Managing and integrating Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and other medical imaging platforms.
  • Data Management (Infrastructure): Ensuring the secure and efficient management of all data infrastructure.
  • Asset Management & Inventory Control: Overseeing the lifecycle management and inventory of all IT assets.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Managing the lifecycle of all technology products and systems within the infrastructure.
  • Developing and maintaining robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOP Standardization) and comprehensive department documentation.

Technology Consolidation & Standardization: Develop and execute strategies for overall infrastructure consolidation, standardizing technologies, streamlining processes, and decommissioning legacy systems (e.g., MSP Decommissioning, M365 Consolidation, EMR Management / Migration) to reduce complexity and improve interoperability and efficiency.


Scalability & Resilience: Architect and implement scalable solutions that can support exponential growth and ensure the system stability, resilience, and disaster recovery of our core systems.


Cost Optimization & Budget Management: Develop, prepare, and manage the IT budget, conduct thorough cost analysis, allocating resources effectively to maximize return on investment, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and driving efficiency gains across technology operations, including Budget Consolidation and Expense Management.


Security and Compliance: Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity measures, including Access Management (IAM), and ensure comprehensive Compliance / Privacy / Regulatory adherence. This also involves conducting regular Risk Assessments and managing IT Audit Management processes to protect company data and ensure business continuity.


Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, ensuring optimal service delivery, fostering strong strategic partnerships, and leading Contract Consolidation / Management efforts.


Innovation and Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve business processes and enhance user experience through technology, while staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends. This includes facilitating Patient / Digital Engagement initiatives and considering the infrastructure and control aspects related to AI / ML Control.


Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, through various mediums including formal presentations, to align technology initiatives with broader business goals.


Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on IT performance metrics, including identifying and establishing clear performance MBOs (Management by Objectives) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Lead teams to successfully achieve these defined targets, ensuring that technology initiatives are delivering measurable value to the organization.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree .
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 5+ years in a senior management or VP-level position.
  • Deep expertise in infrastructure management, including Network Administration, Data Center & Server Management, Telecommunications Platforms, IDF/MDF Room Consolidation, Help Desk / ITSM Management, Desktop/Field Technician Support, Device Management, Data Management (infrastructure), Asset Management, Inventory Control, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proven experience in technology consolidation, standardization, and migration projects within a complex enterprise environment, including M365 Consolidation, MSP Decommissioning, EMR Management / Migration, and PACS and Imaging Integration.
  • Strong understanding of scalable system design, architecture principles, Product Lifecycle Management, and ensuring System Stability & Resilience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, prepare financial forecasts, conduct thorough cost analysis (including budget consolidation and expense management), and drive cost efficiencies in IT operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cybersecurity & Compliance frameworks, Access Management (IAM), Compliance / Privacy / Regulatory requirements, conducting Risk Assessments, and Audit Management.
  • Exceptional leadership and talent management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, develop diverse technical teams, and lead them towards achieving measurable performance targets (MBO delivery).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, including experience delivering presentations to various audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, capable of developing and executing M&A integration strategies and understanding the infrastructure implications of AI / ML Control and Patient / Digital Engagement initiatives.
