Title: Vice President of Design Services

Location: Indianapolis, IN or Michigan City, IN

Overview

This job description outlines the responsibilities, authorities, and expectations for the Vice President of Design Services. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that all in-house design and BIM (Building Information Modeling) projects are planned, designed, coordinated, and completed in a timely, efficient, and profitable manner. The Vice President will be held accountable for all aspects of the department, including project execution, personnel management, and client satisfaction.

Education, Experience & Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of applicable design experience.
• Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Masters Degree .
• Active Professional Engineering or Architectural License in Indiana.
• Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states as needed.
• Commitment to acquiring specialized training as required.

• Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Comfortable working in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiarity with BIM and Virtual Construction processes.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and enforce company policies and initiatives.
• Capable of working closely with senior leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all in-house design and BIM projects.
• Collaborate with internal Project Managers to conceptualize and support design-build pursuits.
• Supervise and support the BIM team and ensure project deliverables are coordinated and on schedule.
• Create and maintain accurate design documents and construction drawings.
• Attend and contribute to company meetings and planning sessions.
• Track and report on costs and durations related to design and BIM services.
• Ensure all client and company information remains confidential.
• Represent the company in a professional and polished manner.
• Promote and support the companys safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• All design projects are completed on time and within the agreed-upon budget.
• BIM efforts are effectively coordinated and integrated into project delivery.
• All project documentation is clear, concise, and error-free.
