What does the Experitec Valve Performance Engineer role look like?

The Valve Performance Engineer is a part of our Solutions Development team.

What is the Valve Performance Engineer responsible for?

The Valve Performance Engineer serves as the subject matter expert in valve applications, performance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. The VPE will become the customer’s trusted advisor through onsite consulting, technician training, and valve application engineering assistance.  The role will influence plant maintenance and engineering departments through relationships with those plant departments.

Typical work assignments include:

  • Conduct plant valve walk downs, valve criticality rankings, customer training, consultation and maintenance recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor in valve applications, diagnostics, and recommended solutions to valve performance problems that affect plant operations.
  • Develop site familiarity and an understanding of customer’s production processes along with the impact of valve technologies and services.
  • Help form and direct the sales strategy at each selected account as a technical resource for valve performance.
  • Review, formulate, recommend, write, and implement solutions to valve performance problems and related plant performance.
  • Evaluate valve and control loop performance with the goal of recommending solutions for total control loop performance and valve reliability.
  • Ensure customer adoption of our on-site support, use of Fisher valve technologies, and use of Experitec mechanical services.
  • Maintain relationships with customer staff who influence the purchase and use of Fisher valve technologies and Experitec mechanical services.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of technology, products, services, and strategic direction in each identified account for Experitec and Emerson Automation Solutions.

Who can do this job? 

Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to work efficiently and effectively within a business system.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Working knowledge and experience in CRM,
  • Analytical and critical thinking.

Other preferred attributes/skills:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative setting.
  • Strong organizational skills.
