Backyard Basecamp, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focused on reconnecting BIPOC communities with nature, urban agriculture, and environmental education. We are seeking an Urban Environmental Stewardship Coordinator to manage and support our programs at BLISS Meadows, our 10-acre urban farm and forest center. This role will involve coordinating educational programs, maintaining green spaces, and engaging the community in environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement educational programs for youth and community members about nature, urban farming, and sustainability.

• Maintain and improve BLISS Meadows, including gardens, trails, and outdoor facilities.

• Work with volunteers, schools, and local organizations to support environmental projects.

• Assist in fundraising, grant writing, and reporting for programs.

• Track program outcomes and provide reports to staff and funders.

• Promote the mission of Backyard Basecamp through outreach and public events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Education, Urban Planning, or related field.

• Experience in environmental education, community outreach, or urban farming .

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work outdoors and handle physical tasks related to land maintenance.

• Passion for sustainability, environmental justice, and community engagement.
