UK Environmental Technical Manager

OBM are currently recruiting for a UK Environmental Technical Manager for our oil and gas service provider client. This is a full time, permanent staff role which can be based at either the clients Peterhead or Great Yarmouth offices and benefits from hybrid working. Reporting to the Group Head of Environmental and Decommissioning Services, this role will be responsible for working with operational managers to ensure the compliant delivery of environmental and decommissioning services in the UK. The post holder will provide expert technical advice on environmental legislation and act as subject matter expert supporting our key account managers Role & Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring all environmental and decommissioning operations are conducted in accordance with local legislation. Adherence to the client's integrated management system (AIMS) ensuring document control and improvements to key processes is maintained. Ensuring compliance with regulator issued permits. Ensuring supplier compliance Develop and maintain strong relationships with Environmental and other associated regulatory bodies. Assist in the identification, qualification, and implementation of new technologies. Lead a pro-active HSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance. Fully endorse the 'Stop the Job' policy and commitment to proactive intervention where unsafe act or condition is observed. Provide project management of selected projects. Ensure that effective measures are in place for staff instruction and training. Ensure the effective management and allocation of workload to meet safety and service delivery requirements, identifying and addressing any resourcing issues as required. Establish and maintain a strong customer relationship with Energy companies in the UK. Act as environmental subject matter expert assisting our key account managers lead discussions on environmental and decommissioning. Provision of technical support for internal stakeholders Drive the continuous improvement of customer service, processes, and cost effectiveness. Identify opportunities for growth; to introduce new products and services, cost reductions and cost savings. Minimum Qualifications and Competencies: Degree in chemistry (or equivalent) or extensive environmental industry management experience. Exemplary knowledge of environmental legislation throughout the UK Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to analyse, report on and present information. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to match and tailor your engagement style to meet the needs of your audience. Commercially astute with excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to network and influence. Solutions based with strong planning, organising and numeric skills, and an excellent attention to detail. Motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Computer literate with excellent IT skills across the Microsoft suite. Demonstrating a high level of personal drive you ensure that your own and your teams actions are completed timeously and to a high standard. Ability to manage complex and competing priorities where high standards are not compromised under press
