Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:00am- 4:00pm

Summary

Become part of the world standard in electronics technology remanufacturing as a Two-Way Radio Electronics Technician at United Radio. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing communications equipment including Two-Way radios, dispatch consoles, trunked systems, paging and LMR networks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and other wireless communications systems down to component level at a repair bench.
  • Replace or repair faulty components, including circuit boards, batteries, and antennas.
  • Soldering of small SMT (Surface Mount Components).
  • Read and Interpret schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams to perform accurate diagnostic and repairs.
  • Perform software updates.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs and services performed ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Performs related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education and/or experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A two-year degree or training in electronic technology or equivalent experience is .
  • Practical experience gained through internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level positions in radio technology desired.
  • CET certification is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of RF principles, signal propagation.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and systems used in radio communications.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing radio equipment issues.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Basic understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Prioritize duties and responsibilities appropriately.



Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated hourly rate between $19.00 and $21.00. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
