Location: Chelmsford, MA
A short 27 miles from Boston, our office is centrally located just south of the confluence of US Route 3, Route 495, and the Lowell Connector, with a stop along the MBTA’s Lowell bus route 15, and a short drive from the Lowell and Billerica commuter rail stops. This office is located along the developing Route 129 corridor in Chelmsford.
Job responsibilities:
- Studies current and proposed transportation projects, analyzing effectiveness, use and needs
- Recommends modifications to current plans to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, minimize cost and implement other improvements
- Assists with designing plans for new and existing infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with Engineers, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Clients to ensure projects are completed correctly, on time and within budget
- Develop and analyze transportation models to predict future system demands and assess the impact of various scenarios
- Prepare and present technical reports, grant applications, and policy recommendations for decision-makers and funding agencies
- Prepare Traffic Impact Studies, Road Safety Audits and Functional Design Reports
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field
- 5+ years of experience in planning on transportation projects
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microstation, AutoTURN, Syncro and SimTraffic
- Salary is contingent on experience
