Job Description
NELOGIS is seeking a Transportation Manager to support DLA Distribution San Diego (DDDC). DDDC’s primary mission is to manage and execute efficient and effective receiving, storage, inventory, packaging, Care of Supplies in Storage, stock control, stock selection, issue processing, packing, shipping, and distribution of repair parts and secondary items in support of on-base, local, and worldwide customers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees a freight terminal responsible for arranging transportation for all issue transactions.
- Directs employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts, SDDC Global Freight Management System (GFMS) applications, and completing required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation.
- Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.
- Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
- Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.
- Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract.
- Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements as required.
Qualifications
- Must have previous experience working at a DLA Distribution Facility
- Fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes.
- A minimum 3 years of experience in inventory using WMS or equivalent automated WMS within the past 5 years.
- Must be elidable to obtain and retain a U.S Secret clearance.

Position is Full Time Positions (40 hrs per week).
