The Role
Transport Planner
Location: Derby
Contract: (Maternity cover 6 months Nov 2023 – April 2024)
Salary: £25, 200 pro-rata
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Transport Planner to join our team, contributing to the efficient and timely transportation of vehicles between our store and to our valued customers.
As a Transport Planner at Motorpoint Ltd, you will be a vital part of our transportation team, responsible for coordinating and optimising the movement of vehicles. Your role will involve planning, managing, and ensuring the smooth flow of vehicles within our operations.
What will my Day to Day look like?
- Collaborate with the Transport team to plan and optimise transportation for vehicle collections & deliveries internal and external
- Schedule and coordinate vehicle movements, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries
- Utilise internal systems and oversea our transport providers management system (TMS) and tools to enhance planning and tracking activities
- Monitor and report on transportation performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
- Assist in evaluating carrier performance and recommending enhancements.
What do we need from you?
- GCSE in Maths & English C and above
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using transportation management software (TMS) is advantageous
- Knowledge of automotive logistics or prior experience in transport planning is a plus.
