Job Description
The Springfield Group are recruiting for a motivated Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Elgin.
Reporting to our Commercial Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to start your career in construction and quantity surveying, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities
o Supporting the preparation of cost plans, valuations, and commercial reports.
o Assisting with sub-contractor payment applications, measurement, and verification of work completed.
o Helping to monitor project budgets, costs, and variations under the guidance of Quantity Surveyors.
o Participating in site visits to support measurement, progress monitoring, and reporting.
o Maintaining accurate records of contracts, invoices, and correspondence.
o Assisting with procurement and tender processes for sub-contractors and suppliers.
o Learning and applying commercial, contractual, and health & safety requirements.
About you
o This is an exciting opening for someone working towards a construction or quantity surveying qualification however candidates educated to SCQF level 6, with a strong interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying, are also encouraged to apply.
o Able to multi-task, prioritise, and have good time management skills.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o A methodical worker, with a natural ability to problem solve.
o Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week in an open plan office environment Monday to Friday.
