Astute is exclusively partnering with one of the leaders in industrial cleaning and shockwave solutions within the Power sector to recruit a Trainee Field Technician to join their growing team in Portsmouth. \n\nThe Trainee Field Technician role comes with a starting salary of £32,100 with an expected OTE of £40,000. This role will be based out of their main offices in Portsmouth, however it will require extensive travel and staying away throughout the UK 5-6 days a week.\n\nIf you're have hands-on experience, are comfortable working and staying away regularly and are looking to work for an organisation that offers key development within a really interesting sector, then submit your CV to apply today.\n\nResponsibilities and duties\n\nReporting to the Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for: \nJoining a team of Blasting Operatives and Engineers working across the UK's power sector to provide key industrial cleaning and shockwave solutions within a number of Power Stations and Energy from Waste centres throughout the UK.\nYou will use key cleaning technologies to improve the efficiently of power stations and process facilities.

This done through controlled detonative charges used in a power station boiler, to dislodge corrosive build-up on pipework.\nYou will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport and usages of explosives, working in a close team to deliver a timely and responsive cleaning service across the UK. This post will require a sizable amount of travel that can include weekends.\nThe reward for your flexibility, time and skill is generous a training period, competitive salary package and overtime offering.\n\nProfessional Qualifications & Personal Attributes\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following: \nExperience of working in a "hands-on" position previously, ideally within a hazardous or industrial environment would be desirable although not necessary.\nA full clean UK driving licence is essential.\nHas an understanding of mechanical maintenance, ideally with some form of qualifications.\nA flexible approach to working and happy to stay away from home 5/6 days per week.\nA pro-active and can-do attitude.\nHappy to travel across the UK.\n\nSalary and benefits of the Trainee Field Technician role\nBasic salary of up to £32,000, OTE £40,000\nGenerous holiday package - 25 Days\nPaid Travel and Expenses.\nStructured development and progression opportunity.\n Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
