JOB DESCRIPTION:

The traffic maintenance operator repairs, installs, and maintains Traffic Control Signage and installs Traffic Control devices. Physically install, repair, and replace traffic signs and other signs, such as stop signs, handicapped signs, speed limits, street markers, etc. Performs other related functions as directed by the Traffic Foreman.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to understand and follow moderately complex written instructions. Ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously, and to work harmoniously with other employees.

Ability to make minor decisions in accordance with Laws, Ordinances, Regulations, and Departmental Policies and problems. Must have a valid driver's license. High School Graduate or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in procedures and methods involved in installation, maintenance, and repair used in the control of traffic.
