Town Planner
Location: Newmarket
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their Newmarket office. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with early career experience to take the next step within a supportive, growing, and highly respected practice.

The Role
As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning consultancy services across a wide range of development projects. You'll work closely with senior team members while also taking on increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and managing planning applications, appeals, and planning statements
Undertaking research, site appraisals, and policy analysis
Supporting the delivery of planning strategies and development advice
Liaising with clients, local authorities, and external consultants
Preparing documents for submission and attending meetings where required
Contributing to project delivery across multiple sectors
About You
The ideal Town Planner will bring initiative, professionalism, and a genuine enthusiasm for planning.
Requirements:
RTPI-accredited Town Planning degree or master's
Relevant experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of the UK planning system
Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects
A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
Full UK driving licence but not essential
