Job Description
World Class Defence Organisation based in is currently looking to recruit 2x Tooling Design Engineer subcontractors. \n \nThis role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer who has Tooling and Creo experience. Previous experience of working in the defence or aerospace industry would be great. \n \nRate: £50.00 per hour\nOvertime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at ‘time and a quarter’\nLocation: Bolton or Stevenage – depending on your preference \nHybrid / Remote working: The role will be a mix of onsite and remote working\nDuration: 6 Months with very likely extension.
Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter. \nIR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)\nInterview process: One stage video interview\n \nTooling Design Engineer Job Description:\n \nYou will be part of a high performing team. You will be creating Tooling solutions on a wide variety of projects. This is a critical role collaborating with wider multi-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
We are looking for someone with passion and drive to take ownership of all aspects of the delivery of these solutions.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDevelopment of technical requirement.\nCreation of concept designs.\nOrganising design/peer reviews.\nManaging workload and priorities.\nCompletion of detailed design.\nInterfacing with definition team to create 2-D drawings.\nPublication of all CAD data.\nSkillset/experience required:\n\nHigh performing teams need high performing and competent individuals. To be suitable for this role, candidates will be able to demonstrate several the following attributes:\n\nIdeally Degree/HND/HNC qualified with demonstrable experience in Mechanical design and development using appropriate engineering tools and techniques.\nHigh level of capability in the use of industry standard 3D CAD packages such as PTC Creo\nExperience of operating in an environment employing development techniques such as FMEA, DFA, DFM etc\nExperience of developing manufacturing tooling and mechanical handling equipment from initial concept to production of 2D drawings.\nAbility to understand the customer needs to develop a design solution
