Summary Description
The position at Kingspan Insulation North America leads the evaluation, validation, and certification of various product lines to ensure they meet internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will be experienced in testing methodologies, certification procedures, and compliance standards relevant to building materials.
This role includes researching, testing, and analyzing federal, state, and local regulations affecting the insulation industry. It supports timely compliance with regulatory changes and oversees projects and testing requiring product compliance expertise, including audits.
Essential Duties
Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure a safe work environment through proactive safety measures.
- Oversee product regulation and testing processes to meet regulatory and 3rd party approval.
- Prepare and submit applications while maintaining positive relationships with 3rd party certification bodies.
- Coordinate inspections and testing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Compile and analyze test data to support informed decision-making.
- Manage compliance requests and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify, investigate and resolve potential non-compliance issues.
- Become expert on Federal, State, and local regulations; advise stake holders on necessary actions.
- Document compliance activities, including applications and test results.
- Develop effective timelines and resource estimates for compliance initiatives.
- Contribute to compliance effort by researching and qualifying external testing service providers.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to such as R&D, Product Management and Operations to obtain and maintain regulatory compliance for existing and new products.
- Establish testing standards, conduct diagnostic procedures, and analyze findings
- Keep skills current by participating in educational opportunities and reviewing industry publications.
- Identify compliance risks and proactively implement corrective action plans. Support audits and inspections related to product certifications and quality systems.
- Monitor regulatory updates and develop training strategies to enhance organizational awareness.
- Participate in Industry Association Technical Committees to share insights and knowledge.
- Investigate and resolve claims related to installed products to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Education and/or Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Sustainability, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience in relevant fields, ideally within the building materials or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of building materials (e.g., insulation, roofing, flooring, concrete, adhesives), with a focus on product durability, performance, and sustainability.
Essential Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with a strong focus on metrics and KPIs.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Experience with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Aha!, Trello) is a plus.
- Experience with multiple relational database management systems.
- Willingness to travel on occasion.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of testing process for building materials.
- Experience/exposure to building codes, regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically about product innovation and market differentiation.
