QUALIFICATIONS

In order to fulfill the job functions listed below an individual must meet the following minimum qualifications.

Communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing.

Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.

Operate hand tools and power tools, such as drills, circular saws, and grinders.

Know how to read and interpret electrical schematics and trouble shoo control circuits.

Know how to read and interpret VOM and AMP meters.

Training or experience to include electrical, plumbing and general carpentry.

Know basic plumbing terminology and perform different soldering techniques.

Know fundamentals of boiler water treatment.

Understand operation of the different kinds of steam traps, boiler controls, and flame safeguard cycle.

One-year prior experience, or training, in maintenance services or building and grounds maintenance.

Possess current, valid chauffeurs license, CDL or a Wisconsin Class D license.

APPLICANT MUST RECEIVE A SCORE OF AT LEAT 70% ON A TEST GIVEN BY THE DMSS TO VERIFY THAT THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE MET.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform frequent lifting, with weights occasionally up to 40 pounds.

Monitor boilers, air handling units and other equipment.

Move furniture, equipment and supplies.

May occasionally work and perform the duties of Janitor-Maintenance, to include working a janitor shift.

Grounds maintenance, such as snow shoveling, lawn mowing, sweeping and raking.

General carpentry.

Painting.

Maintenance and repair of plumbing, heating, mechanical and electrical systems.

Maintenance and repair of Facility fixtures and equipment.

General Facility maintenance repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (CONTINUED)

As directed by your supervisor, drive Facility van for transfer and emergency trips and/or pick up of necessary supplies.

Preventative maintenance.

Requisition supplies as needed.

Maintain clean, orderly and safe work environment.

Immediately report malfunctioning or unsafe, or suspected malfunctioning or unsafe, equipment or conditions

to supervisor.

Attend required in-services.

Ability to be mandated over scheduled hours up to legal limit.

Other duties may be assigned.
