Daggett County is seeking a dedicated full-time Temporary Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our seasonal team in Manila, Utah.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS FOR OUR TEMPORARY FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN?

You will typically work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional weekend and evening work as needed. This seasonal position is temporary for up to 6 months.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ENTAIL?

As a Temporary Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will work under the general supervision of the Facility Manager, performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks across county buildings, including the courthouse, clinic, park, cemetery, rodeo grounds, and sheriff's office. You will ensure that all facilities are clean, safe, and functional while using your skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, painting, welding, and more. You will perform preventive maintenance on systems such as HVAC units, fire alarms, backup generators, and electronically controlled doors, while also conducting inspections and coordinating with vendors for complex repairs. Your work will also take you outside to maintain parks and cemetery grounds, where you will operate mowers, trimmers, bobcats, and backhoes, handle irrigation repairs, and take on seasonal projects like snow removal, weed control, and beautification efforts. In addition to hands-on tasks, you will maintain accurate maintenance logs, monitor supply inventories, and provide supervision to other facilities staff and summer temps when needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of specialized training in building maintenance, construction, or related fields
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, custodial work, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, small machinery, and heavy equipment like bobcats and backhoes
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, with occasional exposure to heights, electrical systems, and other hazards
  • Willingness to become certified in energy management
