Job Description
Nature of Work
Under general supervision and at the full-performance level, performs professional work within a specialized area focused on the acquisition, preservation, oversight, and enhancement of the state's environmental and natural resources.
This position primarily conducts EPA-mandated Sanitary Surveys of Community Purchase Water Systems and Non-Community Water Systems. Additional responsibilities include:
- Responding to customer complaints
- Assisting with public water system emergencies
- Reviewing compliance sampling plans
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
OR
Substitution: Additional full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training at a rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of training.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the acquisition, preservation, protection and enhancement of environmental/natural resources, environmental protection or in an agency-specific area related to environmental impact.
OR
Substitution: Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of fifteen (15) semester hours for every one (1) year of experience.
