Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Excalibur Group is currently seeking a Technical Writer for a local contract in Washington, DC.
** Will be subject to a background check prior to employment. **
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares acquisition, technical, and programmatic documentation and artifacts in support of technical reviews, acquisition milestones, and program communications.
- Maintains version control of program office documentation.
- Reviews and edits drafts for clarity, punctuation, grammar, and content.
- Properly formats documents.
- Develop templates based on feedback from leadership and program office personnel.
- Contributes to technical briefings, issue papers, summaries, and other program documentation for overview/status briefs, and milestone and acquisition documents.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- If you do not have a Bachelor's degree, the following may be substituted:
- High school diploma plus four (4) years of relevant experience
- Associate degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience
- Professional certification may be substituted for an additional year of relevant experience.
- Five (5) years of technical writing experience.
- Experience in emergency management, homeland security, public safety, or related field .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to convey complex technical or operational concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in documentation tools (Microsoft Word, FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Confluence, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with graphics and layout tools (Visio, Adobe Illustrator, Snagit)
PAY
- $31.50/hour
