Technical Support Engineer in San Diego

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Work closely with end-users to understand the business functionality and processes to ensure efficient use of systems.
  2. Provides support for hardware maintenance LAN/WAN, endpoint devices, and other IS equipment including local hardware installations. 
  3. Responsible for daily systems checks for all essential IT systems to ensure reliable and stable connection to all sites.
  4. Provide system administration support of user accounts, global ID, address list updates.
  5. Responsible for creating, updating, and deleting user and computer accounts; including onboarding and termination of employees.
  6. Provides support by implementing system/Bios updates on endpoint systems such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. 
  7. Responsible for configuration of all new end-user computer systems.
  8. Provides IT support by purchasing IT equipment, maintaining purchase order records, and working with accounting during inventory review.
  9. Assists IT manager in testing new hardware and software to prepare potential use in Company’’s business environment.
  10. Responsible for server room maintenance, hygiene, etc. for all three offices.
  11. Responsible for facilities management duties, including security, badging, and other projects to support each office.
  12. Responsible for creating, maintaining, and following departmental work instructions and business processes; and aligning those with company policies.
  13. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by the IT Manager.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  1. Strong knowledge and skills with computer hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and use in a LAN/WAN environment.
  2. Strong knowledge in Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Windows, and Office 365.
  3. Knowledge in Cisco technologies, Inetsec, ManageEngine, and SentinelOne antivirus.
  4. Knowledge in computer troubleshooting, purchasing, accounting, and inventory control.
  5. Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  6. Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  7. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
  8. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
